In this age of climate change, environmental poisoning, and impeding scarcity on various natural resources, the only noble game in the industry of farming is that of the so-called movement called greenovation. The essential game players are not that many. Among the few is a group called the Luntiang Agribusiness Pilipinas, Inc. or L.A.P.I. Led by Engineer Leonardo A. Parada, L.A.P.I. is also the prime mover of greenhouse technology in the Philippines that uses an atmospheric water generator called the FDA-Philippines-approved, AquaLab Center-tested, and DOST (Department of Science & Technology)-certified Ecoloblue by ECOLEADERS, Inc. Touted to be a global provider of water from humidity for commercial, industrial, and residential use, the American technology is on its grassroots campaign to introduce safe water sourcing in Bulacan via Mia's Garden's Orgreenics Greenhouse which humbly held its inauguration last July 26, 2014. The event was attended in by various participants of neighboring farms at the coinciding 2-day Organic Products Weekend Market.
With water sourcing being made possible by the environmental-friendly atmospheric water generator, the farm produce at Mia's Garden is expected to be safe for consumption as the water used for sustaining the plants are not pesticide-tainted. The produce is also anticipated to be more affordable than those produced in standard farms in other provinces because the cost of investing in the atmospheric water generator already reduced all the unnecessary expenses that may be incurred in standard irrigation, especially since the location of Bulacan is nowhere near any seawater where water can be transformed for re-use. Staff and guests of the farm can also be assured of clean, drinking water for years to come with the same technology.
Set in a controlled environment for ascertaining that no nutrients are unnecessarily wasted, the farm set is progressive. Unlike in a conventional irrigation setup wherein natural soil nutrient is sometimes wasted away through water that flows to uncertain locations, the setup at Mia's Garden works in a dripping system that does not use chemicals that can tamper alkaline content. An alkaline environment is where cancer and major illnesses cannot survive nor thrive. Set in vertical and horizontal layers of various seedlings, the watering system is enhanced by an atmosphere regulator that produces mist. Made possible by the atmospheric water generator, this system of greenovation is the first of its kind in the Philippines.
Most plants are neatly organized in rows of holders except for the group of grapevines that are directly planted on the soil.
At the event, there were also a showcase of numerous organic products like fermented fish, sasa or palm fruit vinegar, sweet and salty pili, brown rice and honey that were presented to guests. They were also made to share in tasting the fresh produce of the farm via a casual dinner.
